Mechanical Site Manager – Data Centre Refurbishment

Mech Electrics Ltd are working on behalf of a key client within the critical infrastructure and data centre sector to recruit a mechanically biased Site Manager for a major refurbishment project in Birmingham.
The project, located close to St Andrew’s Stadium, forms part of a long-term data centre upgrade and refurbishment programme expected to run for approximately two years.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a technically driven business delivering mission-critical infrastructure projects within live and high-specification environments.
The Role
The successful candidate will take responsibility for the day-to-day site management of mechanical installation packages across the project, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to programme.
The project includes significant mechanical infrastructure works including:

Chiller installation
-
VRV / VRF systems
-
HVAC infrastructure
-
Pipework installations
-
Plantroom works
-
Associated mechanical building services packages
Key Responsibilities
-
Managing mechanical subcontractors and site activities
-
Coordinating works with electrical and main contractor teams
-
Driving programme and quality on site
-
Ensuring health & safety compliance at all times
-
Attending client and subcontractor meetings
-
Managing installation progress within a live/critical environment
-
Supporting commissioning and handover activities
Requirements
-
Proven experience as a Mechanical Site Manager within M&E or Building Services
-
Previous experience delivering data centre, critical infrastructure or technically complex projects
-
Strong understanding of HVAC and mechanical building services installations
-
Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multiple work fronts
-
SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid certification preferred
-
Ability to work within fast-paced, high-specification environments

Permanent salary up to £64,500 plus car allowance and full company package.
