Are you a resilient, empathetic educator with a passion for supporting Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? ANZUK Education is partnered with a welcoming SEND school in Southend-on-Sea looking for a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their inclusive team.

The School:
Located in the heart of Southend-on-Sea, this school is known for its nurturing and ambitious environment. They are committed to providing high-quality, inclusive education for pupils with ASD, ADHD, and SEMH, ensuring every student has the tools to succeed.

The Role:
You will provide vital 1:1 and small group support, working alongside the SENCO to bridge the gap between students and the curriculum. You’ll be a calm presence for pupils facing emotional challenges, helping them navigate their social and academic development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored 1:1 and small group interventions.
  • Adapt learning materials to meet diverse MLD and SEMH needs.
  • Manage complex behaviours using positive de-escalation techniques.
  • Track student progress and collaborate with staff and external professionals.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience supporting SEND/SEMH (within education, care, or personal settings).
  • A "child-first" mindset with high levels of patience and resilience.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and pupil welfare.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
